Gadget Guy

Bonus Case File CSI 277--

This was a great case file to pull out some older items from my stash, and products I don't use as often. I had some old wood and chip board pieces laying around as well as some stencils  and papers that I have not used in a while. I put them all together to create this mixed media layout.

I used numbers (in the background), clocks, an old metallic frame, some stencils I have not used in a while, and some paint. This all inspired a story about my dad, who loves cameras and gadgets. In the photo (which was taken around 1968), he is setting up some of his camera equipment. I used up lots of stickers, chipboard, and papers I had been hoarding for a while.

My layout:

I also did some mixed media (used modeling paste with the stencils). And then added some ink sprays, and some paint to that. I used lots of older product on this layout. For fun and prizes come join us at the CSI blog here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/

Do Your Eyes Smile

For csi 276....I followed the traditional challenge on the blog found here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/
For the CSI challenge I used  I used stripes, gingham, clouds, ribbon and was inspired by the word spirit cause my niece is always spirited and smiling.
I used a sketch by Bev Code found here:  https://www.scrapbook.com/gallery/image/sketch/6214391.html.
My niece is always very spirited and photogenic (when she wants to be!) Here she is showing off her special cape--makes her very happy! A great case file for showing off some lovely photos. And using up some product from my scrappy stash! Come join the fun on the CSI blog!

Love

For CSI 275, I chose my own inspiration. I liked the softer color, plants and flowers, and used these on my layout. The photo is of my parents celebrating at their 50th anniversary dinner last year.
Please check out the CSI website for more information about challenge and inspiration; here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/

For this layout, I made some custom embellishments. I die cut and layered some flowers and altered the chipboard title "Love" with paint and stamping. I also used some chipboard along the bottom of the doily/photo as a shelf.  I used some pretty Graphic 45 papers, as well as some others from my stash. I framed my journaling with a die cut doily--inspired by the half circle on the chair.

I Love cats

CSI case file 273 makes me think of spring (even though it is still cold and snowy here). Very pretty colors to work with, so I made a layout featuring my kitty Ellie (my other cat, Prince is not pictured).
For this case file I used paint, wood, ribbon and hearts. I journaled about the things I love about both my cats. I used up some papers I have been hoarding. The striped paper is from my stash and the polka dot paper is from Cocoa Daisy (prize I won last year.) I also used some die cuts and stickers from my stash.

Without further ado, this is my layout:

Winter Fun

CSI 272 is a great winter themed challenge. The challenge can be found on their blog, here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/.The photo was very inspiring, and used animals, snowflakes and plaid, from the photo. And journaled about a winter activity: watching bald eagles.
I stamped the animals, fox, raccoon and hedgehog. I also incorporated some die cuts and stickers.

Christmas memories

Cold case 271. So the idea on this challenge was to pull stuff that has been in our stash for a while.... So i pulled some older papers, and embellishments to create this:

I got lots of inspiration from the photo, I liked the wreath in the photo and created one of my own. I die cut pine branches from older papers. I also liked the birds and flowers and added those as embellishments to the wreath. I also liked the scallops on her shirt and added a scalloped border to my layout--top and bottom. There seemed to be a holiday/winter theme, so I journaled about my Christams and how I was lucky to spend it with my family, including my niece. All the embellishments I added (stars, flowers, birds, silver bling, chipboard title, and stickers were things I had sitting in my stash and am happy I got to use them.

Birthday Treats

The CSI 269 case file was wonderful inspiration for scrapping some photos I had sitting around of my sister's birthday celebration a couple years back. For this challenge, i pulled my own inspiration from the photo, using light and dark pink, light and dark blue and white. I also used stars, banners, and flowers, inspired by the photo. My journaling was about our birthday celebration. Journaling reads: For Laura's 41st birthday, we went for Dinner, then an arcade--delicious food and dessert with a surprise (Pacman bites--warm donut holes with a chocolate filling inside).  The chocolate squirted out when we took a bite.

My layout:

I used some mixed media (ink spray and modeling paste to create the background. )Then added some stickers, stars and enamel dots. This was a fun color palette to work with! Come join the challenge(s) over at the CSI blog, here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/

Rendezvous of Relatives

Our weather the last few days has been almost like spring, with temperatures in the 50's. So, I had the perfect inspiration to work on a CSI challenge (270) with springy colors. The challenge can be found here: http://csichallenge.blogspot.com/

For CSI 270, I drew my own inspiration. I was inspired by the purples, light and dark green, white and brown, and used all of these colors. I loved the pretty flowers, leaves and clock and also used those elements in my layout. The sign inspired me to pull out a photo of a family reunion--when our family had gathered together--so I jounaled about that.

I did some mixed media work for the background, using some ink sprays, modeling paste and stamping. Then I added in some flowers and a die cut clock.
